An interesting and distinctive Johnnie Walker expression, created with a high-rye profile and originally introduced to the US market in 2021.
Johnnie Walker High Rye features a mash bill containing 60% rye, aged in American oak barrels, combined with barley and wheat whiskies and selected Scotch single malts. It was created by Johnnie Walker Master Blender Jim Beveridge together with Whisky Specialist George Harper.
The blend incorporates whiskies associated with several renowned Scottish distilleries, including Cardhu, Cameronbridge, Teaninich, Caol Ila, Clynelish and Glenkinchie, as stated on the bottle.
This expression combines the traditional character of Johnnie Walker Scotch with the spicy character of rye. The official profile highlights sweet fruit and vanilla alongside green apple, toffee, dried clove and a dry rye-spice finish.
