Product Description
This item is a hōmongi (訪問着), a traditional Japanese kimono worn on semi-formal occasions such as weddings and tea ceremonies. The ground features a fine scattered pattern of grey and white (in a kanoko/shibori style) applied across the entire garment, giving the kimono an elegant overall texture.
At the hem and front panels, the ground transitions to a deep navy (a dark, near-black indigo), where small chrysanthemums, clover-like flowers, and leaves are depicted in colors including gold, light green, pale blue, and orange. The pattern is arranged in the ebagara style characteristic of hōmongi, designed to flow naturally across the seams.
The kimono is fully lined, and when opened, a white silk lining is visible.
