Myyjän antama kuvaus
Erinomainen antiikki ranskalainen kristallipullon/pullonksamppeli (crystal decanter) attributed to the Montcenis crystalworks, dating from the early 19th century.
The decanter features an elegant elongated silhouette, with a cylindrical body, gently sloping shoulders and a tall, gracefully narrowing neck. It is completed by a beautifully proportioned crystal stopper in a refined teardrop form.
The body is delicately decorated with an engraved wine motif composed of vine leaves, curling tendrils, small blossoms and scattered droplets. This poetic botanical ornament is particularly appropriate for a wine decanter and contrasts beautifully with the remarkable clarity and substantial quality of the early crystal.
Subtle bubbles, variations and irregularities within the glass are characteristic of traditional early crystal production and testify to the handcrafted nature and considerable age of the piece.
Presented in good antique condition, with surface marks, fine scratches, light wear on the rim the and other authentic traces of time. These discreet signs of age do not detract from its elegance or decorative presence. Please examine the photographs carefully, as they form an integral part of the description. Lid isn’t originally belongs.
A rare and highly decorative example of early French crystal, perfect for an important collection of Montcenis or Le Creusot glassware, an elegant bar setting or a refined period interior
