This specific version represents the early period of the award, established in 1962 and produced until 1984, characterized by its high-quality manufacturing and multi-piece construction.
The set includes:
Full-size Medal: A beautifully crafted, equal-armed cross. The obverse features the enameled coat of arms of Hessen surrounded by golden flames. The reverse bears the crisp stamped inscription "FÜR VERDIENSTE IM BRANDSCHUTZ" (For Merits in Fire Protection).
Made of plated base metal with genuine silvering, partial gilding, and pristine red and blue hot enamels.
