THE MACALLAN EDITION Nº5 tutkii poikkeuksellisten tammitynnyreiden roolia luonnollisen värin luomisessa puolukkis whiskyssämme. Jokainen väri, vaaleimmasta tammesta syvimpään mahonkisävyyn The Macallanin koko valikoimassa, on luonnollisesti peräisin viskin ja siinä kypsyvien tammitynnyreiden välisestä vuorovaikutuksesta. Prosessia valvovat huippuosaavat viskitiimimme, jotka valitsevat erilaisia tynnyreitä luodakseen sekä maun että värin jokaiselle ilmaisulle.
Juhlistaakseen ilmaisujen löytämän vaikuttavan luonnollisen värin, The Macallan teki yhteistyötä Pantone Color Institutein kanssa. Opittuaan viskin valmistuksen vivahteista tammihelmistä lasiin, arvostettu värikonsultti inspiroitui monista sävyistä, jotka yhdessä luovat täyteläisen värin single maltistamme. Sellainen monimutkaisuus voidaan pukea sanoiksi vain yhtä monimuotoisena väreinä. Tuloksena on ainutlaatuinen ja rohkea purppuran sävy, jonka Pantone kehitti yksinomaan edustamaan Edition Nº5:tä, heijastaen äärettömiä vivahteita ja mestarillisuutta, jolla The Macallanin luonnollinen väri luodaan.

Only American oak casks were used in the making of this extraordinary single malt. Casks were selected for their colour in order to deliver a whisky with a wonderfully full flavour. This unique whisky presents a beautiful pale amber colour that is accompanied by an intriguingly intense flavour profile that hosts sweet notes of caramel and fresh fruit combined with oak spices.
With a natural colour of sunlit barley, Edition Nº5 is a whisky created to challenge perceptions of colour by delivering an abundance of depth in flavour. Charming scents of vanilla and toffee merge with spices of oak, nutmeg and ginger, then the beautiful complexity continues by fusing hints of lemon basil and pear. A buttery caramel taste moves into sweet poached peaches and ripe pear. This vivid flavour is followed by a sweetness with light oak spices that linger with a rewarding finish.
