LORIN - Poise — Chapter 4

Original painting by LORIN, part of a continuous exploration of the human figure that emerges from material surfaces and color. Lorin's research focuses on the female figure as an emotional and symbolic space where presence, identity and perception meet.

Poise — Chapter 4 continues a reflection on balance, understood not as immobility or perfection, but as the ability to keep one's center even when something inside us changes. In English, poise indeed contains several meanings: composure, confidence, grace, but also a state of balance that does not need to be shown or demonstrated.
In psychology, emotional balance does not coincide with the absence of difficult emotions, but with the ability to traverse them without being completely governed by them. Poise — Chapter 4 tells this quieter form of strength: balance not as control over what we feel, but as the ability to remain ourselves while we feel it.
