"Transient Memory" is a physical photographic construction, created through a process of analog deconstruction and re-photographing.
I began by photographing the sitter in my studio and producing two physical prints. One was left outdoors, allowing the elements to gradually alter its surface, texture and tonal qualities.
I then crumpled and tore the weathered print, arranging its fragments over the intact photograph alongside flowers and re-photographed the new composition.
The work explores the way time can alter, fragment and reshape what we attempt to preserve.
