Ruslan Lobanov, famous Ukrainian photographer, used to edit few copies of his books ( only 10 copies of Chateau ) in a deluxe edition with green Italian leather , to give them to museums ; the conflit in Ukrainia makes that some were present on the market. When I got it , R. Lobanov told me that it was the last copy in stock. So the others copies are scarce to see in private collections. The cover photo is an oval medallion under glass. When he did his first shooting in 2010 at a new location, an old castle in France, he wasn't sure if he would work there again. Over the next eight years,n however, he repeated the trip nine times, took thousands of pictures and combined them in his new book " Chateau ". Lobanov says that the book gives the warm summer feeling depicted in Paolo Sorrentino's films. " You can't drink much of it but you want to get back to it every day " Lobanov told the Kyiv Post. The book's name is the French word for " castle " . It imitates a photo album of the castle's imaginative residents and service straff living in 1950-1970. This copy is number 503 on a total of 700 copies He signed it on September 2023 in Kiev where he still lives ; you will note that R. Lobanov contributes in a large part in the war effort to give food & equipement to his soldiers with the selling of his books, photos and calendars.
