This brooch is centered by a round-cut amethyst with a diameter of 15 mm, which is cornered by four silver elements, each set with a rose-cut diamond. At the bottom dangles a tear-cut amethyst, which is set in a silver setting, studded with eight small rose-cut diamonds. There is a large gold rim running right behind the central amethyst, which can be used as a bale, making the jewel wearable as a pendant too. Size: 36 x 18 mm. Weight: 6.33 grams Age: Late 19th Century, also known as the Victorian era, circa 1890s. Material: Acid tested as 14k gold and silver, with the pin testing at 10k gold. Condition: In good antique condition with only minor wear, consistent with its age. There are some small scratches on the table of the top amethyst, which are worth mentioning but not very noticeable when worn. Please note that the antique box is for display purposes.
