Pyhä maa (Kaananilainen) Keraaminen pyxis, 10,5 x 10,5 cm
Pyxes, often made of terracotta, were small lidded containers that could be used for various purposes, such as storing cosmetics, jewelry, or other small objects. The pyx form is common in Bronze Age pottery throughout the Mediterranean and the Near East. They have a squat body with scalloped walls, a short neck, and an outward-curving rim.
