These are pre-catalogue Persols produced before the introduction of model numbers (late 1950s), and they represent the transitional period in which Persol evolved from technical protective eyewear to luxury sunwear. Key Features • Early Meflecto temples with long external slots and full-length rods — the first flexible temple system in eyewear history. • Engraved early Persol script, used only in the late 1940s–early 1950s. • “brevetto Ratti” marking confirming pre-Luxottica, handcrafted origin. • Thick hand-sculpted acetate frame, characteristic of Ratti’s post-war artisanal production. • Brass 3-rivet hinges, entirely handmade and typical for this era. • Original brown glass lenses, warm tint, very lightly marked (one tiny superficial scratch on the left lens, invisible in wear). • No model number, as expected for Persol production before 1957.
