Beautiful rare Bebe Mascotte doll by May Freres from around 1890. Not many of these dolls were made, production only existed from 1890-1895. The doll is marked "Mascotte H" and measures 48 cm. Her bisque head is without damage or repairs. She has a very small white spot on the surface of her chin. Beautiful firmly fixed blue eyes. Original mohair wig has been professionally cleaned, original cork cover. Jointed body is in good condition, no surface treatment, minor loss of color on one leg. Original cotton underwear, including corset, her costume is handmade, was made from old fabrics, by a professional seamstress in France. Original shoes and socks.
