Bysantti Pronssi vyön solki, 37 x 20 mm. Ex- Museum (Ei pohjahintaa)

In Anglo-Saxon England and on the European continent, expensive, jeweled buckles were the main element of men's jewelry, especially for nobles during the 7th century. The first buckles were made of bronze and were widely produced, with widespread use in many cultures. During the Byzantine era, skilled craftsmen produced aesthetically simple buckles that demonstrated the quality of their workmanship. Different metalworking methods, such as hammering, embossing, and gilding, were applied to enrich pieces of jewelry, including buckles, which in turn displayed the wealth and status of their owners. Provenance: Ex Museum Exhibiton of the Arbeitsgruppe für Biblische Archäologie, 2008, Germany; Your Antiquarian, Spain, 2021; Former Pablo H. Goizauskas Collection, Spain, 2025 Statement seen by Catawiki. Important information. The seller guarantees that he is entitled to ship this lot. The seller will take care that any necessary permits will be arranged. The seller will inform the buyer about this if this takes more than a few days. Important: For destinations out of Spanish territorry: all our object will be shipped after obtaining CERTIFICATE OF EXPORTATION by Ministry of Culture of Spain. We inform our clients that it may take between 4-8 weeks. For buyers outside the European Union (EU) a Spanish export license is required. This will take several weeks to arrange.
