They are ready for use! The pens are plated in a heavy layer of gold and silver, making sire they will last many decades. These models are also almost brand new, the spring being still stiff and the rings showing no abrasion or friction. The plating is perfect, with no dents, scratches or discoloration. The clip exhibits just a few plating worn off from just being carried as an accessory, probably. And for the silver pyramid pen, the cal has a few dents on the end, without significant damage being done. The pens can take any modern cartridges of the G2 type!
