Irenkyu is a ceramic artist. He is a Living National Treasure of Korea and has received numerous awards.
Goryeo tea bowls were originally miscellaneous utensils used daily by Korean people. However, Japanese tea masters discovered their beauty and began using them as matcha bowls. Wabi-cha tea became popular at the end of the Muromachi period, and became the mainstream of tea ceremony in the Momoyama period.
