His nickname was Shikou,Shikou. His alias is Bunpei. Studied under Mori Tetsuzan, and was later adopted and succeeded to the Mori school. He was active in the Osaka art world. He also served the Hosokawa family, lord of the Kumamoto domain in Higo. He was 74 years old.
