Intense and concentrated in the garnet color, it boasts a nose of great purity, fruity and spicy, deep, with notes of currant, cherry and black cherry, coffee beans, cocoa and blueberries in jam. Il 1998 ha visto nelle Langhe condizioni climatiche caratterizzate da un caldo intenso e da una prolungata siccità: le uve, prodotte in quantità più limitata e con una contenuta percentuale zuccherina, hanno fatto nascere vini di grande struttura ed equilibrio, capaci di un lungo periodo di invecchiamento. L’assemblaggio delle uve provenienti dai 14 vigneti dona un vino completo ed equilibrato, un Barbaresco autentico particolarmente fruttato con ottima struttura tannica ed acidità. Intenso e concentrato nel colore granato, vanta un naso di grande purezza, fruttato e speziato, profondo , percorso da note di ribes, ciliegia e amarena, caffè in grani, cacao e mirtilli in confettura. Definizione olfattiva e vigore notevoli. Anche in bocca è un vino di superlativa estrazione ed equilibrio. E’ potente e deciso, ma anche succoso, morbido e modulato nel tannino. Un Barbaresco di una grande annata può invecchiare in bottiglia per più di 30 anni.
