The active perimeter technique reveals suppressed emotions vibrating at the edges: bright orange and yellow suggest underlying energy and restlessness, while pink hints at vulnerability pushed to the margins. These contrasting edges create optical tension, pulling attention away from the calm center – much like how buried emotions periodically demand recognition despite our attempts to maintain composure. The fluorescent pigments intensify this peripheral vibration, making the edges pulse in peripheral vision. A meditation on the fragile balance we maintain between outward calm and inner complexity. Konstantin Danilov (b. 1979, Moscow) is a painter and muralist based in Athens, Greece. A pioneer of Russia’s 1990s graffiti scene, his practice evolved toward Color Field painting, blending bold spatial compositions with psychological and emotional depth. He has exhibited at major institutions such as the Moscow Museum of Modern Art, RuArts Foundation, and Burning Man x Sotheby’s (New York). His works are part of notable collections, including the STRAAT Museum (Amsterdam), Montresso Foundation, RuArts Foundation, and Sofia Trotsenko Collection. Danilov has held solo shows at Triumph Gallery, Fineart Gallery, and Reloft Art in Moscow, and has participated in international fairs such as Urban Art Fair (Paris) and Affordable Art Fair (Amsterdam). His street art projects span over 20 countries, from Hong Kong to Paris and New York. His work explores themes of emotional perception, ecological fragility, and transformation of personality and the interaction between one’s inner world and the external environment, including in the context of emigration.
