Original Japanese-made ship's marine lantern, dated 1936, as shown on the original brass identification plate secured with contemporary rivets (Nippon Sento Co. Ltd).
Solid brass construction with a grooved red Fresnel lens, designed for nighttime nautical signaling.
Classification shown on the plate: Class A.
Originally fuel-powered (kerosene/petrol), later converted to electric for indoor use.
The conversion is reversible and has not altered the original structure.
Authentic object of naval origin, with original patina and signs of aging consistent with age and use.
Not cosmetically restored, not a replica.
Found in a port area of Bangladesh, a context historically linked to the recovery of decommissioned naval materials from large dismantling yards in the Indo-Pacific region.
