DAN + PIXA - Blue Threshold – Collaborative Abstraction - Original Abstract Painting XXL

Blue Threshold – Collaborative Abstraction This large-scale work can be read as an abstract aerial view of a planetary surface. The expansive white field dominating the central area evokes snow-covered ground or a dense cloud layer seen from orbit. Subtle layers of grey, diluted blue and soft pink undertones create atmospheric depth, suggesting drift, sedimentation and climatic movement beneath an apparently calm surface. The true focal point of the composition, however, lies in the vertical, tree-like structures rising in the upper register. These forms pierce the luminous expanse and extend upward into a darker, almost cosmic zone. They function as a visual axis — simultaneously organic and transcendent — linking earthbound matter to universal space. The darker blue and green area above can be perceived as an atmospheric threshold, a boundary between planet and cosmos. The trees become connectors between surface and infinity, grounding the composition while directing the eye upward. The work proposes a holistic vision in which snow, clouds, vegetation and cosmos are not separate motifs but variations of the same energetic continuum. Micro and macro dimensions coexist: intimate painterly gesture meets planetary scale. The collaboration between Dan and Pixa is visible in the contrast of approaches — one more structural and vertically assertive, the other more atmospheric, layered and dissolving. This productive tension generates spatial depth and formal balance. Unique piece. Sold unframed. Size: 140 x 95 cm (total canvas size approx. 150 x 105 cm) Technique: Acrylic on canvas Year. 2026 Condition: Excellent Hand signed by the artists, and a certificate of authenticity, signed by the artists, will be included with details of the title, technique, size, and year of completion. Provenance: direct from the artist's studio The canvas will be shipped rolled, without stretcher frame, in professional packaging, Tracking number provided. Dan is a Berlin-based contemporary artist whose practice focuses on the use of color surfaces to construct imaginary spaces. Working through layered fields, tonal contrasts and atmospheric transitions, he develops compositions that suggest spatial depth without relying on explicit figuration. His work explores the relationship between material surface and perceptual space, allowing color to function as structure, landscape and environment simultaneously. Through reduction and expansion of chromatic areas, he creates open visual territories that invite contemplative engagement. Étienne Pixa (b. 1971, Strasbourg) is a French-German artist based in Berlin. Trained in graphic arts (drawing, advertising, photography) and active in professional design since the early 2000s, his work is held in private collections and sold internationally.
