Munich School (XIX-XX) - Poultry in a Barn Interior

A high-quality oil on canvas from the prestigious Munich School (Münchner Schule), dating to the turn of the 20th century (circa 1890–1910). The artwork depicts a classic rural scene: a majestic rooster and three hens in a barn, rendered with the naturalistic precision typical of masters like Carl Jutz or Julius Scheuerer. The painting is remarkable for its luminous impasto, particularly visible in the iridescent plumage of the rooster. The atmospheric lighting and the "portrait-like" character of the animals reflect the peak of German animalist painting of the late 19th century. Double Framing & Conservation The artwork is presented in a professional double-framing system that enhances its visual importance: Inner Frame: A beautiful period-original frame (c. 1900) with a faux-marble/root wood finish and gilded profiles. Note: This inner frame has been professionally reinforced with modern metal staples on the reverse to ensure structural integrity. Outer Frame: A contemporary "over-frame" that encases the original one, providing a deep, gallery-style presentation and extra protection. Condition Report Surface: Excellent condition. The paint layer is vibrant and stable. Notably, there is no visible craquelure, which is rare for this period and indicates the painting has been kept in a stable, moisture-controlled environment or professionally varnished. Support: Original canvas and wooden stretcher. The canvas is tight and secure. Reverse: The back shows the natural patina of 100+ year-old wood, with modern mounting points ensuring the double-frame assembly is solid and ready to hang. Technical Details Artist: Munich School (Unsigned). Period: Late 19th / Early 20th Century (c. 1890-1910). Canvas Size: 20 x 25 cm. Total Size (with double frame): 42.5 x 36.5 cm. Professional, safe packaging with reinforced materials. Fast shipping via tracked and insured international courier.
