Bertoncello - Roberto Rignon - Váza (3) - Kerámia

Dear Bidders, I'm offering here a striking set of 3 sculptural ceramic vases designed by Italian artist Roberto Rigon (1929–2024) for Bertoncello Ceramiche d’Arte. Roberto Rigon was born on June 7, 1929, in Friola di Pozzoleone (Vicenza, Italy). From an early age he showed a strong inclination toward drawing and visual arts. He studied at the Royal School of Art for Ceramics in Nove, where he refined his skills under masters such as Giovanni Petucco and Andrea Parini. Rigon began his professional career in the late 1940s, working for several ceramic manufacturers in the Veneto region, including S.I.C.A., before entering into a highly productive collaboration with Bertoncello Ceramiche d’Arte. During the 1960s and 1970s, he contributed to the development of innovative forms and glazes that became characteristic of the brand’s most iconic production. His work is distinguished by a strong sculptural approach, combining geometric abstraction with organic forms and a sophisticated use of enamel and color. Over a career spanning more than six decades, Rigon remained active as both a ceramist and artist, later establishing his own workshop while continuing his research in sculpture and graphic art. () These vases, produced in Italy during the 1960s–1970s, are excellent examples of Mid-Century Modern design, reflecting the experimental spirit of post-war Italian ceramics and the distinctive artistic language developed by Rigon in collaboration with Bertoncello.
