Sequoia Oil and acrylic on canvas 100 cm x 140 cm (39 inches x 55 inches) Sequoia is a striking portrait that combines sensuality with a quiet sense of strength and presence. Sequoia turns slightly toward the viewer, meeting the gaze with an intense, self-possessed expression, while the extended tongue introduces a provocative tension that feels both playful and deliberate. Set against a warm, earthy background, the composition feels grounded, intimate and immediately arresting. What gives the work its particular character is the balance between simplified form and carefully chosen detail. The braids, beadwork and feather adornment lend the portrait a ceremonial and symbolic presence, while the painted facial markings intensify its visual rhythm. Deep dark tones in the skin contrast beautifully with the pale accents and the vivid tongue, creating a composition that feels bold, elegant and unmistakably contemporary. Although direct in its erotic charge, Sequoia remains refined rather than explicit. The portrait holds together as an image of confidence, individuality and controlled allure, where vulnerability and power exist side by side. The result is a memorable work that feels heated and magnetic, yet also composed and sophisticated.
