Descrizione del venditore
There is a suspended moment, before the storm, in which the sky changes tone and the air is charged with something that cannot yet be named.
“Cumulonimbus” was born from that moment: from the awareness of seeing something disturbing approaching, without being able to stop it. It is the visual story of a surrender: not to fear, but to the natural unfolding of events. Like a storm front that thickens, grows, becomes a roar... and then dissolves.
This work is inspired by the atmospheric phenomenon of the cumulonimbus, the mother cloud of storms: frightening but necessary, full of energy and transformation.
Through modules of white paper that expand like masses in formation, the work tells the emotional rhythm of before, during and after the storm.
Because there are events, inside and outside of us, that we cannot avoid. We can only go through them. And find ourselves, in our own way, new.
Samantha Bonanno is a paper artist whose research focuses on the transformation of paper into modular forms that tell stories of space, meaning and emotions. Each work is born from a concept, a deep reflection on a word or a phrase, as a starting point for a creative journey. Through cuts, folds and manual assembly, she makes the invisible tangible, she tries to bring to consciousness concepts that are often forgotten, creating compositions that are aesthetically powerful and emotionally engaging. Her art is a way of exploring the infinite hidden meaning of even the simplest things, stimulating reflections and thoughts that can deeply resonate with those who observe her works.
