Historic Note
The Cosworth engine, especially the legendary DFV, has racked up an enormous number of victories in Formula One, with 176 wins in total, making it the most successful engine after Ferrari. It also won numerous drivers' and constructors' world titles, dominating the scene from 1967 until the end of the naturally aspirated era.
It became the benchmark engine for many teams, winning 12 drivers' and 10 constructors' titles.
It was light (light enough) and powerful (powerful enough).
Last Win: Detroit Grand Prix in 1983 (Michele Alboreto, Tyrrell-Ford Cosworth DFY).
