“Lord John Psychedelic Mural, Carnaby Street – 1967”
Description
A striking, large-format colour photograph by Bill Zygmant, capturing one of the most iconic visual moments of Swinging London: the painting of the legendary psychedelic mural on the Lord John boutique at the corner of Carnaby Street and Broadwick Street, Soho, London.
The mural was created in 1967 by the Dutch design collective The Fool, best known for their work with The Beatles, Cream, and The Hollies.
This image is exceptionally rare because it shows the mural in progress, with painters and scaffolding visible—most surviving images show it completed.
