Descrizione del venditore

A very RARE and beautiful and interesting book written by Henry Cockton...."Sylvester Sound the Somnambulist" 2nd edition 1847.
The novel is a comic tale that centres on the character Sylvester Sound, a man who is a persistent and active sleepwalker, completely unaware of his actions during these episodes.
The key element of the story is that while awake, Sylvester is a calm, amiable, and ordinary individual, but in his sleepwalking state, he becomes a mischievous figure who performs a variety of "wild and extraordinary tricks". He has no recollection of these actions when he wakes up, which leads to confusion and humorous situations for both him and those around him.
The narrative uses Sylvester's somnambulism to explore themes of conscious versus unconscious behaviour in a lighthearted, Dickensian fashion.
Beautiful preface of the author on "Sonnambulism"!!!!
Externally half leather with light wear around edges and corners, shelfwear Inside a few pages with tiny corner missing, some stains scattered-see examples- but overall clean and complete, text readable. Plates good.
ONLY COPY SELLING WORLWIDE!!!!
Uncommon. Rarity. Perfect Christmas gift.
