Descrizione del venditore
A two-panel screen painted on a ground imitating silver leaf, featuring a naturalistic scene dominated by a pair of peacocks perched on a rock. The feathers are rendered in vivid tones of green, blue, and gold, while the lower section of the composition is enriched with large blooming peonies and dense vegetation.
The silvered ground, naturally oxidized over time, creates a soft and irregular effect that enhances the depth of the painting.
The panels are framed by two elegant silk borders, while a lacquered wooden frame completes and protects the screen.
The screen can also be easily mounted on a wall or used as a room divider.
Byōbu (屏風), literally “wind protection screens,” are traditional Japanese folding screens originally created to divide spaces and today appreciated above all as striking wall-mounted paintings.
---The byobu is in good condition, with wear consistent with age, some visible restorations and imperfections to the paper. Please refer to the pictures for further details.
The item will be carefully packed and shipped via DHL or FedEx, accompanied by the original certificate of authenticity issued by Mastromauro Japanese art gallery based in Milan, Italy.
