Descrizione del venditore
A Butsudan 仏壇, a Japanese domestic altar in black lacquered wood, embellished with gilded details and finely carved metal fittings. The structure features large articulated doors, typical of Buddhist altars, with gilded inner panels and worked metal mounts.
The outer doors, finished in glossy black lacquer, are adorned with ornamental engraved metalwork, while the inner doors open to reveal a richly decorated interior.
The interior, entirely gilded, consists of columns, moldings, and niches carved with floral motifs and auspicious symbols. The central sanctuary is designed to house multiple votive figures.
The lower section of the altar includes panels decorated with polychrome floral designs, which open to provide storage space for ritual implements and accessories.
Tansu are traditional Japanese storage chests, valued today not only for their functional design but also as refined examples of craftsmanship that preserve the natural patina and quiet elegance of time.
---The shrine is in good condition, with signs of wear consistent with age. Please refer to the pictures for further details.
The item will be carefully packed and shipped via DHL or FedEx, accompanied by the original certificate of authenticity issued by Mastromauro Japanese art gallery based in Milan, Italy.
