Descrizione del venditore
A Japanese low table in black lacquer, decorated with a motif of stylized waves and flying ducks.
The tabletop features a refined lacquered decoration with a pattern of waves rendered through sinuous, regular lines. Three flying ducks appear above them, depicted with precision in the shading of the wings and in the details of the plumage, creating a strong contrast against the dark ground.
The surface is enriched with a nashiji effect, which lends luminosity and depth to the lacquer.
The table stands on four sturdy, removable, interlocking legs of squared form, also finished in black lacquer.
The reverse of the tabletop and the lower structure show a uniform black lacquer finish.
Japanese lacquerware (漆器, shikki) represents one of Japan’s most celebrated artistic traditions. These works combine durability and brilliance with intricate decorative techniques such as maki-e and nashiji.
---The table is in very good condition. Minor wear visible on the lacquer surface. Please refer to the pictures for further details.
The item will be carefully packed and shipped via DHL or FedEx, accompanied by the original certificate of authenticity issued by Mastromauro Japanese art gallery based in Milan, Italy.
