Descrizione del venditore

A dark blue cloisonné vase of square form, decorated with naturalistic floral motifs depicting cherry blossoms, chrysanthemums, and irises, with a small bird in flight.

The enamels are outlined by an extremely fine silver wire. The decoration continues on the reverse, on the neck, and on the base.

Signed under the base, next to an old showroom label from Geneva.

The chrysanthemum (kiku, 菊), the imperial flower and emblem of the Japanese Imperial House, represents nobility, health, and long life.
Cherry blossoms (sakura, 桜) embody the transient beauty of life, renewal, and the ephemeral nature of existence. It is one of the most celebrated motifs in Japanese art.
The iris (ayame, 菖蒲) is traditionally associated with protection and purification, symbolizing strength and vitality.

Japanese cloisonné is one of the most refined forms of decorative art. Originally adopted from China, the technique was perfected by Japanese artisans during the Meiji period. The technique involves the use of vibrant polychrome enamels that create a metallic, glossy effect.

---The vase is in very good condition. Please refer to the pictures for further details.

The item will be carefully packed and shipped via DHL or FedEx, accompanied by the original certificate of authenticity issued by Mastromauro Japanese art gallery based in Milan, Italy.
