Greek Apulian Ceramic Palmette Lekythos
Greek, Apulian, 400-350 BC

Western Greek squat lekythos with a red figure palmette on the rounded body. The petals radiate from a central core, the central leaf cuts the surrounding frame.
Squat lekythos with flat handle, long neck, and spreading mouth. The neck is slightly offset from both the body and the mouth. The base is slightly hollowed out.

Size: H. 7.3 cm

Condition: Intact. Tan clay, semi-lustrous black gloss with some surface wear.

Provenance: German private collection since the 1960s. Thence art market Munich, November 2018 sale.
