Joseph Tilleux (Antwerp, 1896 - 1978) was a Belgian painter. He was educated at the Academy and The Higher Institute in Antwerp. Pupil of Frans Courtens, Frans Hens, and A Ciamberlani. Worked in the studio of Isidore Opsomer (in Lier) until 1921. Later he had a studio in Antwerp. Was friends with Felix Timmermans and Van Boeckel in Lier and became a teacher at the academy in Dendermonde. Genre: landscapes, rural scenes, sea views, still lifes, portraits, and city views. Made trips to: France, Italy, the Netherlands, and Spain. He is mentioned in Belgian art books. He is an internationally known painter. Work in various museums.
