Ear rings (2) - perspex, nails, wood - Msingha - ZULU - South Africa
1st half 20th century - Good condition, used with some signs of wear

Very nice pair of earplugs in perspex.

Acquired in situ by myself at the Tugela River area in 1974.

Originally, these earplugs were made and worn by men who worked in the mines beginning 1900.
Afterwards, the tradition was taken over by the Zulu women.

Extensive documentation in English will be given to the purchaser of the earplugs.
