Lovely oil on canvas
He was a pupil of Bernard Naudin and Charles Guérin, himself a pupil of Gustave Moreau. His first works were watercolours and drawings. He then worked as an engraver and lithographer in Dole in the Courbe-Rouzet printing press before settle in Paris. He exhibited at the “Salon d’Automne”and 1935 and at the “Salon des Tuileries” He made drawings during WWII.
He took the topic of the Opera ballet students and became an artist, familiar with the Paris Opera. He produced many paintings for which he got several awards.
Jodelet brings back sketchbooks from his many travels. He is also illustrator and caricaturist. It illustrates several works, such as the novel “La Vagabonde” by Colette, “Un bon petit diable” by la comtesse de Ségur or “Dansons la trompeuse” by Raymond Escholier and Marie-Louise Escholier.
