Roman solid bronze figure of a standing Legionary Eagle (Aquila) in fine classical style. Nice feather detailing on the chest and wings.

The eagle was a powerful symbol to the Roman military. With each Roman legion a special eagle-bearer (aquilifer) had the honor of carrying the Legionary Eagle standard into battle and to guard its existence.

Size: 60,3 x 37,9 mm
Weight: ca 63,86 g

Condition: good solid condition, signs of wear consistent with age and use, see images for own impression. As the base of the figure is rounded the eagle can not stand without support.
