bone dagger (1) - Cassowary bone - bun muruk - Abelam - Prince Alexander Mountains, Papua New Guinea

Description
bone dagger (1) - Cassowary bone - bun muruk - Abelam - Prince Alexander Mountains, Papua New Guinea
Early 20th century - Good

Abelam bone dagger, made using Stone Age techniques, with a wonderful, ancient patina from use and traces of shell limestone and a magical red colour. The point is no longer that sharp from having been used for a long time. However, the wear is also very old. I acquired this ancient dagger myself in Kalabu Village in 1987.
