Very beautiful English publisher's half binding, in leather, spine adorned with a rich golden décor, blind-stamped percaline covers, all edges gilt.

A luxurious English publication, a sort of Keepsake featuring poems, fragments of prose, and illustrated with 36 fine English steel prints (prints on thick paper under silk pages): a frontispiece plate with a vignette on the title page and 34 tipped-in steel plates under silk pages after Thomas Allom, Austin, Melville, Purser etc. Views of cities in India, England, Canada, Malaysia, some portraits, historical and genre scenes.

Condition: Beautiful copy in very good condition, well-holding and very decorative binding, the leather is rubbed to the joints and headcap/tailcap. The percaline of the cover is a little discoloured on the edges. One damaged corner. Inside in very good overall condition, some foxing mainly in the margins.
