History: This figure model is imitated from the original statue that was one of the four tutelary goddesses who guarded the shrine containing the entrails of the mummified Tutankhamun. The goddesses were supposed to protect the pharaoh in the afterlife and keep dangers away from him. The shrine with the goddesses was discovered in a room right next to the coffin chamber.
