A lovely, tall six-panel byôbu 屏風 (folding screen) finished with oxidized silver leaf 銀箔 (ginpaku). Over time, silver leaf naturally develops a soft patina, giving the surface a subtle and refined aged character. Mounted with a double silk border: an inner ecru band and a broader green outer band. Framed in a black lacquered wooden frame. In Japan, such tranquil and even screens are often used as a backdrop for ikebana flower arrangements or to accompany other decorative or ceremonial objects.
