Toru Ichikawa(1973-) - Karaffel - Keramikk, Gold and RED En annen dimensjon Stilig metallisk sakekaraffel (Tokkri). - Vase, gjenstand

This piece is accented with stylish metallic gold, red, and silver, as well as lava-like shapes. The red among the gold and silver creates a cool impression. It's a striking piece, as if it came from another dimension. Originally intended as a sake decanter, this is a work of art. Displayed like a vase, it brings a new dimension to the space. Toru Ichikawa He studied the techniques of Bizen ware, a traditional craft dating back to the Middle Ages, but his work goes far beyond traditional techniques. He describes this as a "cry for freedom." In an interview, he said, "I simply wanted to be free. I felt extremely restricted by societal influences such as my living environment and social structure, and I was always seeking freedom." This desire likely led him to break away from a style that adhered to form and tradition, and to explore creative methods and expressions that no one had ever attempted before. He values universal truth over self-absorbed freedom. "Wood burns and becomes fire, the fire becomes ash, the ash becomes earth and returns to the earth. That is the cycle. We live in such a cycle. There is a universal working, a universal truth, and I follow it. While I have a rebellious spirit against society, I believe I am actually following universal truth." His works reflect the ancient Eastern five elements (wood, fire, earth, metal, and water). They have been carefully stored and are in like-new condition. There are thin cracks (crazing) on the surface of the silver and gold, but these are from the hardening process. They will not fall off. Please rest assured. Autographed box. Includes original cloth. Size: Height 17cm, Width 7cm x Depth 7cm. Weight 370g
