Aoshima (青島) - Miyata Saburō (宮田三郎,1924-2013) - Japan (Ingen reservasjonspris)

Work Title: Aoshima (青島) Artist: Miyata Saburō (宮田三郎,1924-2013) Technique: Woodblock Print Signature & Seal: Artist’s signature and seal present at the lower left corner of the print Sheet Size: 34.3 × 43.7 cm (13.5 × 17.2 in) Paper Material: Washi (和紙) This woodblock print was created by Japanese printmaker Miyata Saburō (宮田三郎) around the 1980s–1990s. Miyata Saburō was an accomplished printmaker celebrated for his Shōwa Fūkei Hanga (昭和風景版画,Shōwa Scenery Prints). He excelled at leveraging the unique texture of woodblock prints, adopting a decorative style characterized by flat color blocks and soft hues. Regarded as one of the representative "local landscape-documenting artists" in Japan’s regional printmaking circle, he was praised by critics as "an artist who works with planes rather than lines, featuring a simple and concise style". Dominating this work are soft tones of yellow, blue and green, paired with clean and succinct lines. It depicts the tranquil ambiance of a seashore; through simplified forms and gentle color schemes, it conveys the artistic conception of "simplicity and serenity" inherent in Japanese aesthetics. The artist’s signature and seal are visible at the lower left corner of the print. Due to age, the paper shows signs of oxidation, yellowing and mildew spots, yet the overall condition remains good. Note: This woodblock print does not include a frame. The framed image is for display only. - The picture is part of the description. The color of the item may be slightly different from the picture (due to camera and screen settings). - The successful bidder will be responsible for any customs duties and taxes (if applicable). - This item will be mailed by the postal service of Taiwan in the form of airmail with insurance attached.
