Vikingtiden Sølv Ekstremt sjeldent og vakkert talismanring med symbolikk av verdens tre (Yggdrasil), beskyttende (Ingen reservasjonspris)
A striking early-medieval Norse/Viking-style silver ring featuring a distinctive elongated lozenge (“eye”) bezel filled with crisp, geometric ornament. The bezel is framed by a double outline and a punched “pearl” border, a vocabulary widely used in North European metalwork to create a sense of enclosure and protection.
Inside the cartouche, the design is divided into three parts: two outer fields packed with radiating chevrons/herringbone strokes, and a central vertical panel accented by dot rows and angular staves. This layout strongly recalls the Viking-age preference for structured geometry—patterns that read as both decoration and symbolism: a protected center, held steady by a “pillar” or “stave” motif, and guarded by repeating “shield” patterns to either side.
In an apotropaic (protective) interpretation, the bezel functions like a watchful eye: a contained sacred space, bordered and sealed, meant to turn away ill fortune and keep the wearer “held” within a field of order. Pieces like this—quietly powerful rather than overtly figurative—are exactly the kind of personal objects that would have carried meaning in daily life: protection, steadiness, and resolve.

Style/period: Viking/Norse aesthetic, early medieval taste in geometric ornament.
