Japanese Musical Liquor Decanter Set in Wooden Music Box – Tokyo – Mid-20th Century – NOS Rare and complete Japanese liquor decanter set housed in a wooden music box case, produced in Tokyo, Japan, mid-20th century (circa 1950s–1960s). The set consists of two square-cut glass decanters and four matching small glasses, all preserved in unused New Old Stock condition, with original protective plastic still present on the decanters. The glass shows a warm amber tint typical of mid-century Japanese barware. The wooden case is fitted with a mechanical music box mechanism that automatically plays a melody when the lid is opened. The interior is lined with original red textile and features a built-in mirror in the lid. The exterior is decorated with applied heraldic-style metal mounts, giving the box a distinctive ceremonial and presentation character. A paper label marked “H.D.C. Tokyo” remains attached to one decanter, supporting Japanese origin and export-era production. Such combined barware and music box presentation sets were produced in limited numbers and were often intended as luxury gifts. This is a complete, original set with all components present.
