A very fine antique 4/4 violin, labeled David Tecchler liutaro fecit Romae anno 1716. The instrument is in ready to play condition with tears, wears, and one small repaired crack under chin rest. The violin has an excellent high to medium grained spruce of the top and one piece back of strongly flamed maple with matched sides and scroll. Rich golden amber varnish shows an amazing wooden choice. The whole length of the violin is 588 mm and the back 357 mm. The width of the upper bouts: 166 mm; middle bouts: 112 mm; lower bouts: 204 mm. New boxwood set up and new strings. The sound is very good, suitable for soloist. Shipping worldwide insured
