Antique Telescopic Lorgnette / Magnifier with Turquoise Glasses Beads- Late 19th Century. A charming and well-preserved Victorian opera glasses, dating around 1870-1900. This elegant accessory was originally worn on a necklace and used reading small print or used as opera glasses. The unique piece is made with a finely crafted telescopic brass body and decorated on both ends with concentric rings of turquoise-coloured glass beads, typical for late 19th-century French and English decorative styles. The lens is still present and sits firmly in its mount. The telescopic mechanism extends and retracts correctly (typical age-related stiffness may occur). Condition Good antique condition. 7 decorative beads are missing. Light patina and age related wear consistent with age. Telescopisch mechanism functional. No cracks in the glass lens.
