Lot includes (6 items) 1. Horae Beatae Mariae Virginis Facsimile of Codex U2 VI. 8, Archdiocesan Library of Eger. Illuminated 15th-century French Book of Hours, probably from Northern France. Facsimile edition published by Corvina Press & Magyar Helikon, 1976. Bound in beige faux leather with gilt decoration. Illustrated dust jacket. With a booklet containing two historical essays in English. 2. Missale – Traveling Prayer Book Facsimile of manuscript Cod. Lat. 221, National Széchényi Library, Budapest. Late 15th-century portable missal, commissioned by the German nobleman Graf Erasmus von Wertheim. Approx. 80 illuminated pages with Latin text, decorated initials and bright colours including gilt. Hardcover in white cloth, illustrated slipcase, with Hungarian commentary booklet. 3. Defensio Francisci Davidis / De dualitate tractatus Published by Bibliotheca Unitariorum Foundation (Utrecht) and Akadémiai Kiadó, Budapest, 1983. Facsimile edition of two 16th-century Unitarian / Non-Trinitarian theological works, associated with Ferenc Dávid, founder of the Unitarian Church of Transylvania. With English foreword and introduction, indexes of biblical references and names. Bound in original green cloth with gilt decoration. 4. Birkat Ha-Mazon Facsimile of an 18th-century Jewish manuscript (dated 1751), Jewish Museum of Budapest. Originally created as a wedding gift, richly illustrated with hand-painted colour decorations. Housed in a brown suede clamshell box containing: Leather-bound facsimile volume with gilt decoration; softcover scholarly booklet by Iris Fishof in English. Silver decoration on the case shows some wear. 5. The Kaufmann Haggadah Edited by Gabrielle Sed-Rajna. Facsimile edition published in Budapest, 1990. Reproduction of the famous 14th-century illuminated Haggadah (Catalonia), preserving the visual richness of one of the most important medieval Hebrew manuscripts. Lavish colour illustrations accompany the Passover texts and rituals. 6. Der Sankt-Johanner Kodex Facsimile edition published in Budapest, 1991. Reproduction of a handwritten 19th-century Protestant devotional manuscript from the German minority of Hungary. Contains prayers, religious songs and illustrated pages, reflecting local religious and folk traditions. Minor damage to the rear cover. Facsimile pages on one side, with German and Hungarian transcription on the facing pages. All volumes are in good overall condition.
