Aneroid barometer - Tre - Deutschland-Flug 1935

Large Art Deco Weather Station - "Deutschland-Flug 1935" Aviation Prize - 50cm Rare Historical Collector's Piece A magnificent Art Deco barometer and thermometer wall station, awarded as an Honorary Prize (Ehrenpreis) during the famous "Deutschland-Flug 1935" (Germany Flight 1935). This national aviation contest was a major event in pre-war civil and sporting aviation. Historical Significance: The base of the wooden frame features an original engraved metal plaque: "Ehrenpreis Deutschland-Flug 1935" gestf. [donated by] Fritz Saran, Halberstadt. Halberstadt was a prominent hub for German aviation (home to Junkers factories), making this prize a significant piece of aeronautical memorabilia. Technical Details: Instrument 1: Large Aneroid Barometer with German weather notations (Sturm, Regen, Veränderlich, Schön, Beständig). It features a fine adjustment for altitude. Instrument 2: Dual-scale Thermometer showing both Celsius and Réaumur (the standard scientific scales of the early 20th century). Material: Solid wood housing with elegant Art Deco open-work carvings and geometric patterns. Markings: Stamped model/serial number "3102" on the reverse. Dimensions: Height: 50 cm Maximum Width: 19.5 cm Condition Report Overall: Excellent vintage condition considering its nearly 90-year age. Wood: Beautiful original patina; the wood is solid with no structural damage or signs of woodworm. Mechanics: The barometer responds to pressure changes and the thermometer is fully functional. Glass: Original glass covers are present and intact. Please note: There is some light dust/residue on the interior surface of the barometer glass, consistent with age. This can be cleaned if the buyer chooses to open the bezel, but it has been left in its original, untouched state to preserve its historical integrity. Plaque: The commemorative metal plaque is firmly attached and perfectly legible.
