Port Dundas 20 yo 1990 (57.4%, OB, Special Release, 1920 bottles, 2011) From a combination of bourbon, new European and sherry casks. Bottle 511. Color: Chestnut brown. Nose: A delicate combination of spice, fruit, and sweetness reminiscent of Bourbon and rum. Aromas of cherries, old leather, and pencil shavings, spicy wood notes, and the sweetness of ripe bananas, chocolate, and vanilla. A drop of water emphasizes the delicate wood notes. Palate: Very rich and smooth, and wonderfully complex. Notes of wax, varnish, licorice, apple, brown sugar, Brazil nuts, honey, cinnamon, cardamom, pepper, and walnuts are just a few of the flavors that emerge. A long, complex finish with beautifully drying wood notes and plenty of spice.
