Stokk - Hvitt metall - Utskåret hundehåndtak

Decorative antique walking cane with a distinctive carved dog-form handle, possibly representing a bulldog-type dog. The carving shows individual, hand-worked character rather than a uniform factory finish, giving the handle a strong sense of personality and folk art appeal. Subtle asymmetries and surface wear contribute to its expressive, rustic appearance, with a warm patina developed through long use. Based on style and construction, the cane can be tentatively dated to the late 19th or early 20th century (circa 1890–1920). The design reflects late Victorian to early Edwardian taste, particularly the popularity of animal motifs in folk art and gentleman’s walking sticks of the period. The handle appears to be carved from a natural material such as bone or antler and is fitted with a decorative engraved metal collar showing age-related wear and small splits consistent with period manufacture. The dark-stained wooden shaft is straight and smooth, with surface wear and minor marks commensurate with age. The original metal ferrule is present and remains protected by a later rubber tip, which helps preserve the end of the shaft. The cane is shown on a modern display stand for photographic purposes only. Overall, the walking stick remains structurally intact and displays very well. A highly characterful folk art walking cane, notable for its carved dog-form handle and strong decorative presence, suitable as a collectible or rustic interior piece.
